World Water Day 2020
Welcome to another Princes Gate blog. You may not know but today is World Water Day so if you are stuck at home why not grab a drink (of water?), sit down and have a read for five minutes.
World Water Day aims to raise awareness of the importance of water and climate change and how the two are intrinsically linked. Climate change has a significant affect on the world we live in leading to some extreme weather conditions. This can lead to scarcer water supplies, and an increase in polluted water which affects quality.
That’s where today comes in. It’s a little day set aside to tell you, the person who’s reading this that any contribution big or small can help.
If you’ve finished drinking from that plastic bottle then please recycle it. An act of sustainability like that may seem tiny at first but it encourages others to join you. Imagine if everybody chipped in!
By taking these small and simple steps we can begin to create a closed-loop recycling system. This is a production process where any materials fed into our eco-system are recycled and reused thus reducing our waste, encouraging sustainability and helping our planet.
By taking care of planet Earth it will take care of us — something every individual from all walks of life can appreciate. Which is why today is a kind of a big deal!
If you know us, you know we love nothing more than putting Earth first by taking as many steps as possible to make sure our impact on the planet is tiny!
There’s no doubt you’ve heard us talk about how proud we are of being a carbon-neutral business. Our bottles are blown here on-site reducing our carbon footprint significantly, 2,428.5 tonnes of CO2 per year to be exact.
The lightweight design of our bottles means we are saving over 250 million grams of plastic every year in comparison to the bottles used 5 years ago. To top it all off every single part of our bottles are 100% recyclable, right down to the cap and label so throw as many of them in the recycling as you can!
We are very fortunate here at Princes Gate to have our water source onsite which allows us to bottle our Mineral Water ethically. We consistently monitor our local habitat to ensure no harm is done to the surrounding area. The source of our water is what is so special to us and it is for this reason exactly that we go to great lengths to look after it. We love the land we live on; it is after all our way of life.
Water is our most precious resource no matter if you drink it, cook with it or wash with it, we all need water. Any action, no matter how big or small, is a step in the right direction to a cleaner and healthier planet and a world where water is pure. We hope you enjoyed this little read from us and maybe you learned something along the way. Until next time stay hydrated (and wash your hands!).
